Award-winning artist Adele came to the defense of Taylor Swift as fans of the National Football League (NFL) criticized the “Lover” singer for attending the games, including the Super Bowl, as she cheered for his boyfriend Travis Kelce.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by a fan on Feb. 11 (U.S. time), Adele took a minute during her concert in Las Vegas to weigh on the complaints being thrown at Swift for attending the football games, saying it becomes more “enjoyable” with the “Cruel Summer” singer’s attendance.

“I think I want the Chiefs to win just because Taylor Swift goes for them, and all of you that are complaining about Taylor being at the game, get a f–king life. It’s her f–king boyfriend! It’s actually made it a bit more enjoyable to watch, because, like I said, I have no idea what’s going on,” declared the Hello singer.

The 34-year-old singer-songwriter has been dating Kelce since September 2023 and has been attending his team’s football games. Front Office Sports reported that Swift’s appearance in the NFL has reportedly generated $331.5 million viewership.

Arnold Schwarzenegger praised the pop icon for bringing a new impact to the sport, mentioning the newfound interest of the girls given Swift’s attendance at the games.

“Football itself draws the biggest crowd because it’s the most popular sport. But then to have someone like her (Taylor Swift) be there and watch the game adds another kind of a thing that [attracts] a different audience… especially younger girls are now more into football, they know the rules and all of that stuff, so it’s really amazing,” Schwarzenegger told the Hollywood Reporter.

It’s been a historic week for the power couple, as Swift made history at the Grammys last week by winning the Album of the Year for the fourth time, while Kansas City Chiefs star Kelce took home the trophy at the Super Bowl 2024.

The “You Belong With Me” singer was in attendance at the Super Bowl after her four back-to-back shows for the Eras Tour in Japan. She attended with her celebrity friends Blake Lively, Lana del Rey, and Ice Spice, among others, witnessing her boyfriend take home the trophy.

Swift and Kelce’s after-game interaction continues to trend online as the award-winning singer showered the football star with hugs and kisses as they celebrated the Chiefs’ victory.
