Issa Pressman on her relationship with James Reid: ‘Great’
Issa Pressman opened up about her relationship with actor-singer James Reid, saying all is well after a year of being together and stressing that she’s happy and more relaxed now.
During the special advance screening of “Lisa Frankenstein” on Tuesday, Feb. 6, Pressman gave a direct answer when asked how her relationship was with the actor: “Great,” she said, noting that they had lots of things in common.
The 26-year-old model admitted that she had a hard time when her relationship with Reid was hounded by controversies last year, saying she would talk more about her past struggles in the future.
“Nakakatakot before,” she said. “It feels relieving at least ngayon nakakahinga ako. I think I took a year [off]. It was quite tough. I couldn’t sleep. It was kinda rough. One day, I’ll open up about it,”
“Now I just feel happy that there’s more love around and because there’s more love in me, I’m getting to express more love around also. It’s just gonna be a flow,” added Pressman.

He’s very wise. The words that he gives talagang fulfilling, you feel secure. You feel safe. No matter what negativity, he could really show you how to see it in a positive way,” she explained.
When asked about the biggest lesson she learned from the trials that their relationship encountered, Pressman stressed the importance of love amid adversities.
“May dadaanan kayo na sobrang hirap. You really have to look back and love yourself. So you see the world with love. So no matter how much hate and negativity or struggles that you face if you have love, everything else would [be] filled with love,” she told the press.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the actress-model said she’s not a fan of material things. “No. Walang mga pasabog. Love is enough. Love and happiness. Nothing material. Nothing bongga.”
Pressman also noted that while it is Reid who should plan their Valentine’s Day activity, she also does some efforts for her boyfriend, “Syempre, hindi ako ‘yung magpa-plan. Siya ‘yung magsu-surprise.”
“[Pero] lagi akong may effort…. Mahilig ako mga craft, mga letter, surprises,” she added.
Pressman also said they don’t have any immediate plans to get married yet, considering her age, and that they are still trying to build their foundation as a couple.
In a separate interview at the same event, Reid was also asked about his Valentine’s Day plan with Pressman. His answer: “It’s a secret. If I tell you now, it wouldn’t be a surprise for Issa.”
