Jessy Mendiola confirms church wedding plans with Luis Manzano

Jessy Mendiola confirmed that she’ll once again tie the knot with her husband Luis Manzano in a church ceremony, although she remained tightlipped on the details of their special day.

Mendiola made the confirmation to entertainment journalist MJ Felipe, as seen on the latter’s X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Feb. 3, saying their church and destination wedding is “happening anytime soon.”

The actress also shared that they sought the help of celebrity wedding and events planner Amanda Tirol to bring their church wedding to life, as seen in a video on Manila Standard editor Nickie Wang’s YouTube channel.

“Actually, chill bride ako eh. Bride-chilla ako eh. Kung alam mo ‘yung feeling na mas maganda, you give [the wedding coordinator] a chance to decide, Ms. Amanda Tirol. Everything’s coming together soon,” she said.

Mendiola said their upcoming wedding will be special for her, as her family will witness her saying “I do” to Manzano.

“I’m happy na finally, magkakaroon kami ng wedding na nand’un ‘yung buong family and [nandyan na si] Lord. Kasi civil wedding lang ‘yung last time. ‘Yung family ko kasi at the time was in Japan tapos ‘yung Dad ko, nasa Lebanon,” she said.

(I’m happy that finally, we’ll have a wedding where my whole family will be there and in front of the Lord. Our last wedding was a civil ceremony. At the time, my family was in Japan while my dad was in Lebanon.)

The actress also thanked her husband for being supportive in ensuring that her family will be present in their special day.

“Ang sweet nga ni Luis kasi sabi niya, I think [we] should have a wedding na [nand’un ang family mo]. So finally, nandito na ‘yung side ko of the family. Mame-meet na nila ‘yung mother-in-law ko, father-in-law ko, Tito Ralph [Recto], and si Rosie. Exciting talaga,” she said.

(Luis is sweet because he said that we should have a wedding where my family is there. So finally, my side of the family is here. They will meet my mother-in-law, father-in-law, Tito Ralph Recto, and Rosie. It’s very exciting.)

Mendiola and Manzano tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in April 2021. They welcomed their first child, Isabella Rose, on Dec. 28, 2022.
