Alexa Ilacad, KD Estrada prop each other up in ‘Pira-Pirasong Paraiso’
One of the highlights of “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” was the chemistry between Alexa Ilacad and KD Estrada — which is a testament to their mutual support as it was their first teleserye together.
Ilacad and Estrada, who expressed their gratitude to each other during the afternoon drama’s press conference, have nothing but satisfaction with how their work in the afternoon drama turned out.
“It’s just another first for the two of us together because it is [KD’s] first teleserye,” Ilacad said. “While watching him, he’s grown a lot. I’ve discovered so much about him, myself, and how we work together. I feel that it’s going to be really helpful for us in the future for our future projects.”
The actress starred as Beth Paraiso who turned out to be one of the long-lost sisters of Diana Paraiso (Charlie Dizon). Throughout the series, she develops a romance with Elon Lamadrid (KD Estrada).
“I’m really satisfied, fulfilled, and happy with how it turned out in our characters as individuals and together,” said Ilacad. “In our personal growth, I believe that I have grown a lot as an actress, and a lot of that, I want to give credit to KD.”

“He really helped me a lot with this show. Aside from [Charlie Dizon, Loisa Andalio, and Elisse Joson] and the production, siya ‘yung pinaka nakakaintindi sa’kin (He understood me the most),” she said. “He builds me up and pushes me. He always reminds me that I did great during the times when I felt I didn’t do my best. It has been a great journey.”
Meanwhile, Estrada is grateful to have a “partner like Alexa.” Among the many reasons, he noted, was that she’s the type of co-star who opted to give tips rather than being a “coach.”
“She always gives me tips. She doesn’t coach me. She gives me [suggestions], and I take that. I really want to grow as an actor and I want to solidify [myself] in the industry,” he said. “This is our first teleserye, she has done so many, but this is my first. Our dynamics will clash sometimes, but that’s who we are. We make things work.”
The series, which aired its final episode on Jan. 27, also starred Charlie Dizon, Loisa Andalio, Elisse Joson, Ronnie Alonte, and Joseph Marco.
Also part of the cast were Sunshine Dizon, Snooky Serna, Gardo Versoza, Epy Quizon, and Rosanna Roces.
