Katrina Halili is mourning the death of her non-showbiz boyfriend who reportedly died on Sunday, Jan. 28, due to heart attack.

The actress shared a photo of a man whose face cannot be seen through her Instagram page on Monday, Jan. 29. The man is reportedly Jeremy Guiab, a former vice mayor of a Lanao del Sur town.

“Ang daya mo, love, sabi mo aalagaan mo kami ni Katie,” Halili said, referring to her 11-year-old daughter with singer Kris Lawrence. “Bakit iniwan mo kami?”

(It’s unfair, love. You promised to take care of me and Katie. Why did you leave us?)

While Halili opted not to include Guiab’s identity, some of her fellow celebrities sent their condolences and prayers, making a mention of Jeremy’s name.

Guiab’s friend, Quezon City councilor Don De Leon, also paid tribute to the former politician via a Facebook post.

“My best friend, my brother, my confidant and partner. Jeremy G. Guiab succumbed to a fatal heart attack at around 5:00 PM today,” De Leon said on Sunday. “Together with his family, we ask for prayers, for his soul’s eternal rest with our Lord. A precious life gone too soon.”

In a separate post, De Leon disclosed that Guiab’s wake will be held in Quezon City until Thursday, Feb. 1.

Halili has been private with her relationship with Guiab. It was only in July last year that she opened up about having a boyfriend.

“‘Yung boyfriend ko ‘yung mas nag-ga-guide sa akin para alagaan ‘yung anak ko. Siya ‘yung mas nagtuturo sa ‘kin kasi stubborn ako, ‘di ba?” Halili said in a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview.

(My boyfriend has been the one guiding me in taking care of my child. He teaches me how to do it because I’m stubborn, right?)

“Stubborn din ‘yung anak ko so medyo mahirap kaming dalawa, so minsan nawawalan ako ng pasensya, so siya ‘yung mas kalmado. So tinutulungan niya ako talaga,” she added.

(My child is stubborn as well, and it’s difficult for the two of us. Whenever I lose patience at times, he remains calm and helps me a lot.)
