Fans are in for a treat as IU and Park Bo-gum will lead the cast of the upcoming series “When Life Give You Tangerines,” helmed by the filmmaker behind the former’s hit K-drama “My Mister.”

Details about the series were revealed more than a year after IU and Park were confirmed to be part of a project.

Photos of the lead stars in what appeared to be a script reading were uploaded on a streaming platform’s Instagram page on Tuesday, Jan. 30. They were also joined by their co-stars Moon So-ri and Park Hae-joon.

The show’s Korean title will be written in Jeju dialect which literally means “You Have Done Well,” per reports. To note, certain words are written and spoken differently in South Korea depending on the region — although the Seoul dialect (also known as Gyeonggi) remains the standard language of the country.

“When Life Gives You Tangerines” tells the story of Ae Sun (IU) and Gwansuk (Park Bo-gum) living on Jeju Island in the 1950s.

The script is written by Lim Sang-chun of “Fight My Way” and “When the Camellia Blooms” fame and it will be directed by Kim Won-seok. A premiere date is yet to be announced.

Born as Lee Ji-eun, IU is known as a multi-hyphenate with a string of chart-topping songs and popular K-dramas attached to her name. Among her biggest shows include “Scarlet Heart Ryeo,” “Dream High,” and “Hotel Del Luna,” to name a few.

IU will release her sixth mini-album “The Winning” on Feb. 20. The music video for her new single “Love Wins All” starring BTS’ V was a huge hit, garnering over 33 million views.

Meanwhile, Park is best known for his lead roles in “Hello Monster,” “Reply 1988,” “Love in the Moonlight,” “Encounter,” and “Record of Youth.”
