Jericho Rosales and his wife, model Kim Jones, have parted ways, putting an end to the longstanding speculations over the breakdown of their marriage.
The couple had been separated since 2019, as confirmed by the couple’s close friend and godfather Ricco Ocampo to ABS-CBN News on Monday, Jan. 29.
Rosales and Jones made an “amicable” decision to separate as they decided it’s time to “live separate lives,” Ocampo said in the report. Despite this, their breakup was handled with “utmost respect and care toward one another.”
“One might say that it is a demonstration of their affection and respect, as Echo and Kim only wish the best for each other,” Ocampo was quoted as saying. “They are incredibly grateful for those who have supported them throughout the years, and appreciate the respect of their privacy during this time.”
Despite the split, the exes worked together on a film where Rosales served as the producer, while Jones was the actor, writer, and director. Details are yet to be disclosed, as of this writing.
Rosales and Jones have been hounded by breakup rumors since the pandemic after netizens noticed their absence on their respective Instagram accounts. Both, however, remained friendly and even engaged in banter on social media on multiple occasions.
The ex-couple also attended the ABS-CBN Ball together and walked the red carpet as a pair in 2023.
Before the confirmation, the actor said he was doing “good, great, fantastic, and amazing” although he didn’t address the status of his marriage with Jones at the time. He also said in a separate event that he doesn’t have an obligation to “explain his personal life” to anyone.
