“One More Chance: The Musical,” a production by the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA), has announced the stars who will play the role of Popoy and Basha in the iconic movie of the same title, starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.
Sam Concepcion and CJ Navato will play Popoy, while Anna Luna and Nicole Omillo will take on the role of Basha, as seen on PETA’s social media pages last Sunday, Jan. 28.
Concepcion, Navato, Luna, and Omillo will star as the main characters on an alternate basis, although schedules of their staging are yet to be announced.
Other cast members include Kiara Takahashi and Sheena Belarmino as Tricia, while Jef Flores and Jay Gonzaga will play Mark.
Tricia, who was originally played by Maja Salvador, became Popoy’s love interest following his painful breakup. Meanwhile, Derek Ramsay starred as Mark in the film, an architect who became a close friend of Basha in the architecture firm.
Also included in the cast are Ada Tayao, Rica Laguardia, Poppert Bernadas, Paji Arceo, Via Antonio, Dippy Arceo, Johnnie Moran, and Jon Abella.
The musical, which will run from April 12 and June 16 at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City, will also include songs from folk-pop band Ben&Ben.
Details about the final time slots, tickets, and selling details are yet to be announced, as of this writing.
“One More Chance” musical was announced during the closing stage of the musical “Walang Aray” in October 2023, where the band made a special appearance to perform their hit songs “Kathang Isip” and “Araw-Araw.”
