‘Thirty Seconds to Mars’ to hit Manila concert scene on July 29

Thirty Seconds to Mars

MANILA, Philippines—MTV Europe Awards 2010’s Best Rock Band “Thirty Seconds to Mars” is hitting this city’s concert scene on July 29 at the Trinoma Mindanao Open Parking.

The band hailing from Los Angeles, which has played nearly 500 sold out shows around the globe since 2005, will treat their fans to a night of genuine rock as they play crowd favorites such as “Hurricane” and “Closer to the Edge.”

The world-class arena-crushing rock band, composed by Jared Leto, Shannon Leto and Tomo Miličević, was formed in 1998 and has since taken rock music to a distinctive and sophisticated level.

FEATURED STORIES

Singles from their self-entitled debut album (Thirty Seconds to Mars, 2002) and two other albums (A Beautiful Lie, 2005; This Is War, 2009) have all secured top spots in international hit charts.

“A Beautiful Lie” produced two Top 5 Modern Rock singles in “From Yesterday” and “The Kill.”

“The Kill” set a record for the longest-running hit in the history of Modern Rock radio when it remained on the airplay chart for more than 50 weeks following its No. 3 peak in 2006.

Aside from their three studio albums, Thirty Seconds to Mars also has two extended plays – AOL Sessions Undercover (2007) and To the Edge of the Earth (2008).
