Julia Barretto and South Korean actor Lee Sang-heon will be paired up in the upcoming romantic-comedy series “Secret Ingredient,” days after the latter hinted that he and the actress are working together on a “secret project.”
Barretto and Lee will be joined by Indonesian actor Nicholas Saputra in the series, as confirmed by a streaming platform on Instagram last Saturday, Jan. 20.
“The secret is out! Lee Sang Heon, Julia Barretto, and Nicholas Saputra team up for a new Viu Original series, #SecretIngredient. Brace yourselves for a journey filled with food and a lot of love,” its caption read.
The Jo Young-Gwang-helmed series was confirmed at an “official welcome dinner” featuring Barretto, Lee, and Saputra and will reportedly have six episodes.
“Julia Barretto with South Korean actor [Lee Sang-heon] and Indonesian actor [Nicholas Saputra], and Director Jo Young-Gwang at the official welcome dinner of the upcoming original series, ‘Secret Ingredient,’” its caption read.
Details about the series’ full cast and synopsis have yet to be disclosed, as of this writing.
Apart from “Secret Ingredient,” Barretto will also star in the upcoming film “Ikaw Pa Rin ang Pipiliin Ko” with screen veteran Aga Muhlach.
Lee gained widespread recognition after taking on the role of Min Ho in the series “XO, Kitty” which is the spinoff to the hit film franchise “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.” He also starred in the film “Gran Turismo.”
