Iza Calzado on the prospect of joining Miss Universe pageant

Actress Iza Calzado said she was “already OK with my life” and would prefer not to join the controversial Miss Universe pageant even though its organizers have already declared that the contest has no more age limit and that even moms could participate.

“Yes, I’ve read about those changes. But really, I’m fine where I am right now. I’m a mom, and with the platform that God has given me, I’m already content and happy,” said the actress who gave birth to Deia Amihan in January 2022. She is married to British businessman Ben Wintle.

But Iza is the perfect combination of beauty and brains, one reporter told her. “Also with stretchmarks and everything else, well …” she said, laughing. “I really don’t want to subject myself to something like that because I’m sure the experience would be so nerve-wracking. It would be a new and different kind of pressure for me. I don’t think it’s for me. Besides, I’ve already done ‘Beauty Queen!’” said Iza of the soap series produced by GMA 7 in 2010 that also featured Katrina Halili and Maggie Wilson. INQ
