Vietnamese woman denies romance with Daniel Padilla, cries foul at fans

A Vietnamese woman has come forward to clear her name amid claims linking her to Daniel Padilla, saying she had been receiving threats to her life, security and her job due to the rumors.
On her Instagram account on Sunday, Jan. 14, Minh Puong, or Emma, categorically denied being in a relationship with Padilla, saying their association was only limited to exchanging “a few words” with him when the actor and his friends visited the bar owned by her brother.
“My brother (anh: kuya) owns the bar that Daniel went to. My brother told me that Daniel is there and I can say Hi to him because I know he is a famous actor. I saw Daniel and his friends in the bar, exchanged a few words, and then I went back home with my sister. That is the end of my interaction with him,” she said.
Emma said that prior to Padilla’s visit last year, she has never met him.
The woman felt compelled to address the issue after receiving “a lot of messages from fans and supporters of Daniel Padilla, a famous actor in the Philippines.”
She likewise shared screenshots of messages of Padilla and ex-girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo accusing her of causing their split.
The screenshots also showed some fans claiming that she and Padilla were in a relationship, even though the latter was still romantically involved with Bernardo at the time. Others claimed that he also met up with her frequently in Vietnam, with some of their interactions allegedly taking place at a bar.

The allegations, she said, have “threatened [her] life and [her] job,” while her family was also at the receiving end of the threats.
Emma also stressed that she’s just a “common Vietnamese citizen” and she has no idea about the identity of a certain person who goes by the username @johnnymoonlightz.
“I know you guys love and appreciate your idol. I also feel the same to the artists I support, but please be civilized and polite. Please be a cultured person. You guys have threatened my life and my job, sent messages and spammed my family and friends. This is something I would not wish to happen to anyone,” she said.
“A lot of you guys think that I am someone important, but I want to ask the question: are you accusing me with no proof and all speculations?” she further said.
Fans claimed that the username is a backup account of Padilla on social media, but the singer-actor has yet to confirm nor deny if the account is indeed his.

“To be clear, I do not know who Johnnymoonlightz is, and I do not care who he is either. I am a common Vietnamese citizen. I work, hang out with my friends, meet people, and live my life normally. I hope you maintain dignity and respect when coming to my social media, and please do not act without thinking,” she said.
Aside from being linked to Emma, Padilla is also alleged to have been romantically involved with Andrea Brillantes, which showbiz writer and talent manager Ogie Diaz spoke about on his YouTube channel in November 2023.
Padilla and Bernardo confirmed their split through separate statements on Instagram in the same month.
