Vilma Santos has asked her supporters to help prayer for her husband, former Senator Ralph Recto, who was recently appointed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong Marcos Jr. as the new secretary of the Department of Finance (DOF).

Speaking to show biz reporter Jun Lalin on his online program Abante TeleTabloid, Santos expressed pride for her husband of over 30 years.

“Binigyan sya ng tiwala because he is such a good economist. I’m really praying for him. Pinagdarasal ko ang asawa ko. Alam ko ang anyang puso pagdating sa pagtulong para sa bansa natin. I am praying na sana he will do a good job, at wag na syang bigyan ng mga negatibong komento o negative vibes. Ang intensyon nya is talagang makatulong na maresolbahan ang problema natin sa ekonomiya,” she said.

Recto’s appointment was confirmed by Malacañang on Thursday. With his appointment as DOF chief, the former Batangas congressman will also head the administration’s economic development cluster, alongside the Executive Secretary.

Santos, who attended Recto’s oath-taking on Friday, January 12, likewise asked her supporters to help her pray for her husband.

“Last one request sa papasuking trabaho ng asawa ko na sana tulungan nyo naman akong ipagdasal na sana he will do a good job at sana maging positive mode. Para kahit paano makatulong naman na maresolbahan o maiangat naman ang ekonomiya ng bansa. Please help me pray,” she said.
