Mark Leviste belied claims that Kris Aquino supposedly died days after New Year, with the politician describing those who spread false reports as “foolish, selfish and idiotic.”
The Batangas vice governor said this after a news outlet released a fact-check report that dismisses claims of Aquino’s death via an Instagram post on Thursday, Jan 11.
Also shown in the report is a screenshot of a Facebook post saying that the Queen of All Media died last Jan. 3.
“Kris is very much alive—we’re together now in Orange County,” Leviste said in the comments section, referring to the county where Aquino currently resides in the United States.
“Whoever came up with this fake/false news is foolish, selfish and idiotic!” he stressed.
Leviste then responded to netizens who also lamented the proliferation of false claims about Aquino, and urged them to continuously pray for her.
“Thank God that she’s alive, and trying her best to heal. So instead of spreading false information and malicious intent, let’s just keep praying for the strength, recovery and well-being of Kris,” he said.
Aquino is in the US for her medical treatments for several autoimmune diseases. Meanwhile, Leviste, with whom she broke up with last November, has been seen visiting her in her US home despite their split.
