Donny Pangilinan set the record straight by clarifying that his action toward Kathryn Bernardo in a viral video was only out of friendliness.

In a press conference for his new movie, Pangilinan addressed his trending video with Bernardo, where he was seen talking to the actress and offering her a drink as the “Hows of Us” star danced at the wedding reception of Robi Domingo and Maiqui Pineda.

The “Can’t Buy Me Love” actor said that he was just looking after Bernardo, given that they are good friends and nothing more.

“Syempre wedding ng friend namin ‘yon. We had a great time. Lahat naman kami friends sa show biz. Binabantayan namin ang isat isa. Ayun lang yon. I think for me it’s just having peace of mind na friends kaming lahat. Okay kami. Ginagawa namin ‘yung trabaho namin and that’s the most important thing,” said Pangilinan.

(It’s the wedding of our friend. We had a great time. All of us are good friends in show biz. So we are looking after each other. That’s about it. I think for me it’s just having peace of mind that we are all friends. We are good. We are just doing our job, and that’s the most important thing.)

Domingo also took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify that his groomsmen lent a helping hand to take care of their wedding guests and asked the netizens not to make any issues out of it.

“Just for the record: we’re all friends here. We’ve got each other’s backs. No issues, please. Also, being the groomsmen, [Pangilinan] and [Darren Espanto] helped us out in taking care of all of the guests,” wrote the actor-host.

Meanwhile, Pangilinan also took to his personal account to explain another video of him that made the rounds online, as he told his and Belle Mariano’s fandom to “not take everything seriously.” after his video with Bernardo circulated.

“Sorry guys, [I] was really caught off guard. Kilala ko kayo. Hindi kayo ganun. Love you all always,” wrote the “He’s into Her” actor after the fans expressed their hurt over his statement.
