The new officers of the Alay Lakad Foundation include Frank Evaristo as president, Frank Layug (vice president), and Robert Quintana (treasurer), with President Benigno Simeon Aquino III as honorary chairman. Other board members: Dr. Teruko Haga, Atty. Joe Redoblado and Rosario Villar. On its 40th year, Alay Lakad will be joined by top civic organizations, Junior Chamber International, Kiwanis, Lions and Rotary Clubs, in “Walk 2012.”
The foundation is giving away full scholarship grants to 10 PUP students beginning this school year. Part of Alay Lakad’s proceeds will subsidize out-of-school-youth training workshops and livelihood programs. This year’s “walk for a cause” will take place on Sept. 2, 6 a.m. at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta.
