The outpouring of scandals, controversial breakups and messy feuds in 2023 alone were enough to make anyone bid the year goodbye with no turning back, but many celebrities including Kathryn Bernardo, Michelle Dee and Heart Evangelista chose to end the year on a hopeful note.

Taking to their Instagram accounts, many celebrities said their goodbyes to the year by sharing messages of hope, as some can be seen enjoying a relaxing getaway from the limelight. Others compiled some of their favorite moments of the year into one post.

On her Instagram account last Saturday, Dec. 30, the happily unattached star can be seen enjoying tom yum soup, coconut juice, ice cream and other food with her loved ones.

Former beauty queen Shaila Rebortera seemingly chose to move forward to the New Year with “excitement,” as seen on Instagram. This, amid her estranged partner Rob Gomez’s controversial leaked conversations with “Magandang Dilag” co-stars Herlene Budol and Bianca Manalo.

“Our best years are always ahead of us. Just keep dreaming. Just keep loving. Just keep living,” she wrote in a video of herself cradling her daughter Amelia.

Michelle Dee

Opting to summarize her year in an Instagram Reel, Michelle Dee compiled her favorite memories on social media, including her Miss Universe stint, endorsement gigs and past photo shoots.

“Thank you to everyone and everything that made 2023 one of the hardest years to move on from. This one will be hard to top and it brings me to tears with how far this journey has taken me. But this is only just the beginning,” she wrote.

The video also showed the singer-actress purposely running away from what appeared to be her phone.

“Hi, I’m Maris Racal. At sa taong 2024, iiwanan ko na lahat ng stress (And in the year 2024, I will leave all the stress behind),” she said in the video.

Iza Calzado

Celebrity mom Iza Calzado admitted on Instagram that even though “embracing” motherhood was “overwhelming,” while citing her postpartum body and schedules between work and home life, she’s nonetheless thankful for those who had her back.

“Grateful for everyone who helped make me feel more than enough for all my work related events. You guys have no idea how your creativity, generosity and support helped this mama through this year,” she wrote.
