The suspect behind the killing of Coleen Garcia’s step-aunt has been arrested on Christmas Eve, four days after the crime, police said.

Antipolo City police chief Ryan Manongdo told INQUIRER.net over the phone that Art Tondo was arrested in Mandaluyong City on Sunday afternoon for the death of Canice Seming, 28, a balikbayan sister-in-law of Garcia’s father.

Tondo, who used to work with Garcia’s dad as a construction worker, was also the former live-in partner of their father’s household help.

However, the nanny reportedly broke up with the suspect after he threatened the lives of her children, according to the Garcia in her Facebook post.

On Dec. 20, Tondo showed up at the house of Garcia’s father looking for his former partner, but found Seming instead. Tondo then stabbed her 15 times.

Garcia said that Tondo was fired due to his alleged substance abuse, and was suspected to be under the influence of drugs when he purportedly committed the crime.
