The iconic American soft-rock duo, Air Supply, treated their devoted Filipino fanbase to a mesmerizing performance of their timeless classics during the ‘The Lost In Love Experience 2023’ concert series held in Manila and Laguna from December 11 to 13 and 15.
The veteran musicians Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock delivered an exceptional performance on the final day of their Philippine tour leg at the Santa Rosa Sports Coliseum in Laguna on December 15. The remarkable concert followed their successful performances at the Newport Performing Arts Theater at Resorts World.
To hype up the jam-packed crowd, singer Faith Cuneta belted out her rendition of famous hits such as “Tubig at Langis” and Kenny Rogers’ 1981 single “Through the Years.”
Air Supply then officially opened the night by performing their widely known romantic songs “Sweet Dreams,” “Even the Nights Are Better,” “Just As I Am,” and “Every Woman In The World.” Afterwards, they welcomed the audience by stating that Santa Rosa was a good place to conclude their concert series in the country.
Next to their romantic hits were the sentimental and angsty ones that pulled the heartstrings of their fans, namely “Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You),” “Chances,” “Goodbye,” and “I Can Wait Forever.”
“It’s great to be back in the Philippines. We’ve been here many many times over the 40 years,” Graham talked with the audience in a middle segment of the show. “It’s the last show we’re gonna play anywhere in the world until February. We are sad that we won’t be playing for a while, but tonight we are here for you.” the half of the duo added.
He proceeded to recite a thought-provoking poem titled “Am I?” and showcased a heartfelt performance of their 2002 song “We Are All Children.”
Russell joined Graham again on the stage as they went to sing their 1982 smash hit “Two Less Lonely People In The World.” The audience undergoes a rollercoaster shift of emotions as they are astounded by Graham’s guitar tricks before playing the melodramatic “The One That You Love” and “Lost In Love” which they cannot help but join in singing.
“What a great send-off for the end of the year for us. Thank you so much,” they said to the crowd, telling them that they learned more about kindness and love throughout their years on the road.
It seems like they are not all out of hits in their colorful discography as the emotional “Making Love Out Of Nothing At All” performance was not enough as fans cheered for more which the duo gladly obliged. They returning for a powerful encore, proving that they are touring legends by closing the show with the cover of Badfinger’s “Without You” and their top love song “All Out Of Love.”
