MANILA, Philippines — Three people who posted a controversial video of late veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez on social media may face criminal complaints, the chief of  the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) told INQUIRER.net on Wednesday.

“There are three identified civilian accounts who posted the video on Facebook. Criminal charges will be filed against the civilians who propagated the video,” QCPD Director Brigadier General Red Maranan said in a Viber message.

Maranan also said the QCPD is further investigating to determine other people who spread the video online.

A Quezon City police station chief and two other personnel were removed from their posts after Valdez’s video was released to the public, Maranan also said in the Viber message to INQUIRER.net.

Valdez, 76, died in the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 17, at his home in Quezon City.

The veteran actor was survived by his wife, Maria Fe Ilagan Gibbs, and his children, Janno Gibbs and former actress Melissa Gibbs.
