Zeinab Harake rose to fame as a YouTube vlogger, but now she is adding acting to her experience as she is about to have a big screen debut through a Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, “Kampon.”
In a short interview with INQUIRER.net during the Parade of Stars on December 16, the social media influencer expressed her feelings ahead of her MMFF debut, noting that she feels overwhelmed by the people’s support.
“Overwhelmed lalo na nakikita mo ‘yung mga tao na nagaantay sa labas, ‘yun talaga pinaka importante doon, ‘yung effort ng mga tao na gustong sumuporta at manood,” she said.
With 10 films participating in the 49th edition of the film festival, Harake shared the unique trait that sets their entry apart from the other movies competing this year.
“Actually all natural kasi minsan mas natatakot tayo kapag natural ‘yung pagkagawa. Hindi patayan hindi anything, talagang natural scary siya. Sobrang ganda, marami kayong magugulat na scene, hindi lang rin sa part ko, pati ‘yung buong kabuohan talaga ng movie.” said Harake.
The horror genre
The content creator said their entry “Kampon” is her genre that speaks so close to who she is, noting how beautiful the script was to make her say yes to participating in the film.

Kasi ito sa mga medyo Zeinab na mga winawatch, pinipili ko talaga na mga movie, kahit na sa mga Netflix or any Hollywood, gusto ko talagang natural ‘yung pagkakatakot,” said the vlogger.
When asked what contribution or significance the MMFF plays in the lives of Filipinos, the Youtuber affirmed that it serves as a way to uplift Philippine cinema again.
“Naku, malaki kasi nga gusto diba gusto natin buhayin ‘yung pelikula uli and sana matuloy tuloy natin suportahan dahil alam naman natin na maraming ring benefits and hindi lang rin para samin kundi para rin sa ibang tao, maraming taong matutulungan, makakatrabaho.” said Harake.
“Kampon” is one of the 10 entries for the MMFF 2023 that will run from December 25 to January 7, 2024 in more than 100 cinemas nationwide.
