Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s relationships have been open to the public eye for years, from her first marriage with Gabby Conception to her second union with Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

Sitting down with Luis Manzano, the megastar recently opened up about her struggles with romantic relationships over the years, noting that a stable marriage was the only thing God didn’t grant in her life.

“I’m very grateful for all the things I’ve been blessed with, but you know what’s funny, Lord, ‘wag po kayo magagalit sakin, ikkwento ko lang. Isa lang ‘yung dinasal ko na lahat binigay sakin pwera ‘yon, kasi nung bata ako ang gusto ko lang magkaasawa ako, magkaanak, tapos aalagaan ko lang ‘yung asawa at mga anak ko,” the actress narrated.

Cuneta weighed in on her first marriage, and despite having a chance to do it the second time around, the actress noted that it remained a struggle given how different she and her current partner are in terms of views on life.

“I got married the first time; obviously, it failed. It’s still a struggle to keep the second marriage going—always, always a struggle. Magkaiba ang direction namin. He’s a politician, and you know I hate politics. Magkaiba kami, but we managed to make it work,” she expressed.I

Second marriage

The actress reflected that the reason her second marriage is still managing to remain afloat is because of their children, but whatever happens behind closed doors is what people don’t always see and understand, which causes the reason for separation.

“Number one because we love our kids and we’re both respectable people. Meron na parehong matinong tao, parehong mabait, parehong disente na hindi nakikita ng tao, ‘yung nangyayari inside the bedroom or inside their house, kapag sila na lang, so wala na sila doon. So dalawang matinong tao na hindi magkasundo, so kailangan maghiwalay kasi isa lang ang buhay,” explained Cuneta.

In November 2022, the 57-year-old actress revealed that she and her husband Pangilinan had a six-month-long lovers’ quarrel, which they thought would lead to an official breakup.

The megastar had a recent reunion with her former husband and love team Conception, which she reminded fans was only for the concert, and there’s a reason they would not make it today as they did in the past.
