Kapuso stars Ysabel Ortega and Miguel Tanfelix have been a love team for almost four years with no official label, making everyone curious about the real status between them.
Sitting down on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the young actors said that they are not rushing to put a label on what they have; however, they revealed that they are exclusively dating.
“Napag-usapan po natin kanina, may business sya (Ysabel), nagfi-film school ako, so ‘di po kami in a rush ni Ysabel. And alam naman natin na once na nagmadali ka sa isang relasyon, pwedeng masayang ‘yung isang magandang bagay,” explained the actor.
(We mentioned earlier that Ysabel has a business, while I do film school, so there’s no rush to put a label. We all know that once people rush things in a relationship, it could ruin the beautiful thing that already exists.)
When asked if they can at least say that they are exclusive, with no other people being entertained by both, the Kapuso stars confirmed that they are.
“Ako, personally, hindi po ako nanliligaw sa iba,” said Tanfelix. (Personally, I don’t try to pursue any other girls.) While Ortega responded, “Sa ngayon, hindi rin po ako nagpapaligaw.” (For now, I also don’t entertain any other suitors.)
During the interview, the actress got emotional when she answered Tanfelix’s question, “I just wanna know kung genuinely happy ka ba sa kung ano ang meron tayo ngayon? (I just want to know if you are genuinely happy with whatever we have right now.)
“Honestly. Of course, super. Hindi mo alam, how happy you make me. Siguro, ‘yung patience niya na, halos araw-araw kasing magkasama kami. Even if hindi kami magkasama palagi niya akong kinakausap and palagi akong nagra-rant sa kaniya about my problems, super grateful ako na palagi siyang nandiyan para makinig sa lahat. Hala bakit ako umiiyak?” explained Ortega.
(You don’t know how happy you make me. It’s his patience because almost every day we are together, and even when we are not, he always talks to me, and I always rant to him about my problems. I am super grateful that he’s always here to listen to everything. Why am I crying?)
Meanwhile, when Ortega asked the actor, ‘How long are you willing to love me?” Tanfelix noted his willingness to wait for the actress, even if it’s not in his vocabulary to be patient.
“Tama ‘yung sinabi ni Tito Boy na love makes you stronger. And ako, never kong nakita ‘yung sarili ko before, so nagugustuhan ko ‘yung version ng sarili ko ngayon, kaya I’m willing to wait. Yung patience ko, kahit hindi ako pasensyosong tao, hinahabaan ko nang sobra for you,” he expressed.
(It’s true what Tito Boy said—that love makes you stronger. I didn’t see myself like this before, and I’m starting to like this version of myself. That’s why I’m willing to wait. I am not a patient person, but I am willing to stretch my patience just for you.)
Ortega and Tanfelix will star in one of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entries, “Firefly.”
