Dennis Trillo had a rather unique way of giving a health update as he composed a song to reveal that he and his actress wife Jennylyn Mercado tested positive for COVID-19.
The actor sang his composition entitled “Gamutin na natin ‘to!” while playing the guitar, as seen on his Instagram page on Monday, Dec. 11.
“Oh, ito na nga/ Tinamaan din ako/ Akala ko’y hindi na tatablan nito/ Ba’t nag-positive ako?/ Gamutin na natin ito/ May bago na ngang uso/ Pati na ang misis ko/ May COVID kaming tatlo,” he sings.
Trillo disclosed that three from their family contracted the virus, but it was not immediately clear if he was referring to their one-year-old daughter Dylan.
“COVID is back, guys!” he added in the comments section.
The family then received well-wishes from their loved ones, fellow celebrities as well as fans who commended Trillo for “making a positive out of a negative situation.”
The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, Dec, 12, said it recorded 1,821 new COVID-19 infections from Dec. 5 to 11, surpassing the number of cases reported in the preceding week.
As of Dec. 11, the nationwide COVID-19 case count was 4,127,586, including 4,056,931 recovered patients and 3,876 active cases.
