Derek Ramsay reveals Ellen Adarna suffered miscarriage
Two years into their marriage, Derek Ramsay revealed during the media conference of his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) film “Kampon” on Dec. 11 that his wife Ellen Adarna suffered a miscarriage in Spain.
“Tumatanda na tayo so akala ko baog ako. So noong nasa Spain kami, nalaman namin na preggy si Ellen, but unfortunately we lost the baby. At least nalaman namin na hindi kami baog. First attempt pa lamang namin na gumawa ng baby. Ellen is okay. We will try next year,” said Ramsay.
Despite having kids from their previous relationships, the couple wants to have a baby girl of their own, given that Ramsay has a 20-year-old son, while Adarna has a son with ex-partner John Lloyd Cruz.
“I’ve always loved kids. That’s why I’m very close to Elias. And everybody’s wishing for a girl para sa amin. I’m leaning towards having a baby girl. Probably I’ll be protective as a father, but I want to be the best father I could be,” stated the actor.
In June, Adarna shared that she quit smoking after 17 years, as she and Ramsay are actively trying to conceive a child.

The couple had a six-month engagement before officially tying the knot in November 2021. From time to time, both actors will share glimpses of their whirlwind romance.
In August last year, Ramsay said in one of his interviews that his married life with Adarna has been peaceful and that their only focus is themselves being married, as he has a deep respect for the sacred union.
“I’ve always had respect for the word marriage. And my parents have been happily married for 50 years. I want that, and I know I have that now with Ellen,” the actor said.
