Miles Ocampo vows to prioritize self-love after split with Elijah Canlas

Miles Ocampo’s split with boyfriend Elijah Canlas this year was unexpected by their fans, but despite their separation, the actress is quite sure she’s handling her situation well post-breakup.
“I will love myself more,” said Ocampo during the “Family of Two” press conference. Given that this is her first interview after the breakup, the E.A.T. host was also asked how she was handling the situation.
“I’m good, I’m happy na andito po ako ngayon, kasama ko kayong lahat,” she told members of the media.
The 26-year-old actress expressed her appreciation to her parents for being a good support system, noting she doesn’t need to say anything for them to understand her feelings.
“Alam mo, ‘yon po ang magaling sa parents, na kahit ‘di ka magsabi sa kanila, kahit ‘di ka magsalita at mag-share, nararamdaman nila kung anong nararamdaman mo,” said Ocampo.
“I am grateful sa Mommy ko—sa parents ko, actually—na kahit wala kayong conversation, pero mararamdaman mo na bigla na lang magte-text ang Mama, ‘Kamusta ka? Kamusta ka today?'” the “Batang Quiapo” actress added.

In November, Canlas confirmed that he and Ocampo had broken up months before, after two years of being together.
“We went through a rough patch recently, mainly because we are going through our own stuff,” he said.
“We are okay; we are not mad at each other. I’m always going to have love for her and support her in what she does, but right now we are taking our time figuring things out,” the actor concluded.
In April 2023, Canlas admitted that during the first year of his relationship with the actress, no one knew about it, noting that it’s possible to have a private relationship in show biz.
“We just choose what to share, and you have to save yourself sometimes from certain things,” he said.
Ocampo and Canlas made their romance public in May 2022, a year after they started dating. Both were cast members of the 2020 drama series “Paano ang Pangako.”
Canlas was last seen with Romnick Sarmenta in the film “About Us but Not about Us,” an entry for the summer edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival.
Ocampo, meanwhile, will star in “Family of Two,” one of the entries in the MMFF this Christmas.
