David Licauco defended himself on social media after a netizen accused him of ignoring Jak Roberto’s 30th birthday on Saturday, Dec. 2, on purpose.

Licauco said he greeted Roberto on his birthday in response to one @_jennel69 who accused him of ignoring the latter’s special day despite being friends behind the scenes, as seen in the comments of the former’s Instagram post.

“Kala [ko ba] kaibigan mo si Jak, bat hindi mo siya binati ng happy birthday (I thought Jak is your friend. Why didn’t you greet him with a happy birthday)?” the netizen asked.

“Chinat ko na siya besh (I sent him a message already, friend),” Licauco said in response.

The comment has since been deleted, as of this writing.

Licauco is the onscreen partner of Roberto’s girlfriend, actress Barbie Forteza, and they had since made waves with their love team known as BarDa. Their partnership stemmed from their chemistry in the Kapuso series “Maria Clara at Ibarra.”

The BarDa tandem since worked together in the music video of Ben&Ben’s interpretation of the hit song “The Way You Look at Me” and the limited show “Maging Sino Ka Man,” an adaptation of the 1991 film starring Sharon Cuneta and Sen. Robin Padilla.

They’re set to join forces in the upcoming show “Pulang Araw” and the movie “That Kind of Love.”

Meanwhile, Roberto recently starred in the teleserye “The Missing Husband,” and made waves on social media for his apparent laidback response to his girlfriend’s hit onscreen partnership.
