If we check out James Reid’s music player, which songs would we find on his playlist?
“If we talk about international artists, that’s a hard question to answer,” the singer-actor told Inquirer Entertainment. “I listen to a whole bunch of stuff. Sometimes, it’s even just instrumental music—like ‘60s or ‘70s funk with no lyrics … just instrumental. It’s exciting because international music is always changing, so it’s hard to put my finger on it. I also listen to a lot of Korean artists, and even that is constantly evolving.
“With local artists, those who are on my playlist right now include Maki and One Click Straight.”
Indeed, James’ own songs and singles are influenced by a lot of disparate genres.
He shared, “As to the sounds that are important to my personal style, I was heavily influenced by MJ (Michael Jackson). And when I got slightly older, there was Justin Timberlake, then The Weeked. So I’m heavily rooted in R&B.”
