Michelle Dee gave another glimpse into her pageant sisterhood with Thailand’s Anntonia Porsild, as she revealed that she will show support for the latter’s crown turnover in her home country and vice versa.

Dee revealed that she will “be flying” to Thailand on the day Porsild will pass her Miss Universe Thailand 2023 crown to her successor, while noting the Thai-Danish beauty queen will do the same for her. Details about their respective turnovers are yet to be disclosed, as of this writing.

“One thing’s for sure is that I’ll be flying to Thailand for her crown turnover and she’ll fly here for my crown turnover as well,” she told reporters during her homecoming media conference.

FEATURED STORIES

While Dee kept her lips sealed about a certain “inquiry” she and Porsild received when they got home, the Filipina beauty queen said they are “open” to the possibility of working together in the future.

“One thing that you should know about Anntonia is that we actually have very similar mindsets and outlooks in life,” she said. “If an opportunity presents itself, I’m sure she’ll take it into consideration. We have talked about it. And both of us are very excited especially with the inquiry we received when we returned to our home countries.”

Pageant watchers have kept an eye on Dee and Porsild’s respective journeys in the global tilt as they both came from “powerhouse countries” in pageantry. Dee said her friendship with Porsild is already “mission accomplished” as it showed that fans of the Philippines and Thailand can “unite.”

“Anntonia and I weren’t able to converse too much during the start of the competition because we didn’t have the chance to. We were assigned to different areas. But medyo nagka-away away nga ‘yung fans (the fans sort of don’t get along),” she said, before explaining the purpose of their pageant rehearsal photo.

“Our intention with our very first photo is to show na bati kami (we’re on good terms). And if kaming dalawa bati (we’re both okay), then our fans should unite as well and be respectful towards each other,” she further added.

While joking about not winning the Miss Congeniality award — in apparent reference to her many awards in the global tilt — Dee said she was “friends with a lot” of her fellow candidates. “But you can never get to know every single one of them. The language barrier is one of the biggest conflicts there,” she added.

“But I was very close to my roommate Miss Indonesia (Fabiënne Groeneveld). Of course, we have Miss Thailand or Anntonia,” she continued. “I was also good friends with Miss Nicaragua (Sheynnis Palacios). We would share moments together, as well as Miss Mexico (Melissa Flores). All of them are such wonderful women.”

Dee has yet to reveal the details of her post-pageantry plans, although she hinted that she will be appearing in a Kapuso series that highlights her as an adrenaline junkie. She will also continue to push for autism awareness and inclusivity.
