Kapuso actor Kelvin Miranda seemed to have dragged himself into a guessing game involving film director Darryl Yap’s online blind item regarding a rumor that international singer Sam Smith had “booked” a Filipino actor for P1 million a night.
Based on the controversial director’s clues, the alleged actor is not from ABS-CBN, has a surname that matches with that of a singer and has the letter E. Despite the many guesses from netizens, Miranda’s name was mentioned the most.
On Tuesday, Nov. 28, the actor responded to the issue through a live video on his verified Facebook page. He commented on the importance of respect and reminded people to treat hearsay with caution.

“Kanya-kanya naman ‘yan. Nirerespeto ko naman lahat ng ano… kung papaanong tinatanggap ng mga tao, ‘yung mga ganyang bagay,” he stated.
Miranda clarified that Yap doesn’t have any ill feelings toward him as he pointed out that the filmmaker did not drop his or anyone’s name to have the rumor directly hit him.
“Feeling ko naman hindi galit ‘yon si Direk Darryl Yap sa akin. Hindi naman siya nagdrop name or nagbigay ng ano… Kung ano lang ibinibigay niya,” he explained.
The actor said people kept linking him to the rumors, but he reminded them not to believe anything that is not true.
“‘Yung mga tao talaga, ‘yung nagbigay ng pangalan ko. Hindi ko naman sila kilala, ‘di ba? Hindi din naman nila ako kilala,” concluded Miranda.
The Kapuso star has already deleted the live video, but fans were quick to save and quote his statements. As of now, Yap has not responded to Miranda’s remarks and hasn’t posted anything more on the blind item.

Some other social media users argued that Miranda should not have spoken if he wasn’t guilty, considering he wasn’t even named in the post. He could have just stayed silent like the other actors who were also mentioned by netizens.
