Kyuhyun, main vocalist of K-pop boy group Super Junior, sustained a minor finger injury after he tried to stop a knife attack from a woman who attempted to break inside a dressing room.

A 30-year-old woman was detained after she broke inside a backstage dressing room for musical actors in Seoul, South Korea, to which Kyuhyun managed to restrain in time, per Korea JoongAng Daily.

Kyuhyun was supposed to greet other cast members following the staging of the musical “Ben-Hur” last Nov. 19 at around 6 p.m. when the incident took place, according to a statement from his label Antenna on X (formerly Twitter).

“In the course of restraining the intruder, he had a minor abrasion on his finger,” Antenna added, noting he was “immediately treated on the spot” after the incident.

The unidentified intruder was charged with “special intimidation” and was arrested on the same day. Her motives are investigated by authorities. She, who reportedly didn’t have any connection to the K-pop idol and involved actors, never stalked them before, per Korean media.

Her exact motives are yet to be determined by authorities, as of this writing.

Kyuhyun’s label then thanked his fans for their “genuine concern” and vowed its commitment to support him.

“He is currently in good health, fully capable of continuing his regular activities. We express our gratitude to all the devoted fans for their genuine concern. Rest assured, we remain committed to supporting the artist. Thank you for your understanding and continued support,” Antenna wrote.

Born as Cho Kyu-hyun, he was added as the main vocalist of Super Junior in 2006. He is also part of the group’s sub-units Super Junior-M and Super Junior-K.R.Y., as well as SM Entertainment’s project unit SM The Ballad.

Kyuhyun also debuted as a solo artist with the album “At Gwanghwamun” in November 2014.
