Celeb’s last-minute demand doesn’t yield desired effect
After the stories involving Talent Search Hunk (TSH) and Flashy Hottie (FH) from last Sunday’s item in Rushes, another “forgetful” celebrity comes to mind. Rocker Vet (RV) also refused to talk about the performing group that catapulted him to global stardom.
Veteran Writer (VW) told Rushes about how he crossed paths with RV’s publicist some years ago. At the time, RV was promoting one of his solo projects in the Philippines, so he wanted to drum up interest for it. Negotiations between VW and RV’s staff went exceedingly well—until it didn’t.
What went wrong? At the last minute, RV “warned” VW that he was not going to answer any question about the famous group that made him one of its members. But the last-minute warning presented a dilemma for VW, who quickly backed out of the interview.
“Without any mention of his group, readers wouldn’t be interested in RV at all. Ang lakas ng loob mag-demand,” VW quipped. “It was like dodging a bullet. I thought it would be better to cancel the interview than release a story that would bore everybody to death!”
