SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador — It’s bright and sunny in San Salvador, and the Miss Universe organizers this morning are gearing up for the pageant’s national costume competition, set for tonight at 8 p.m. CST (8 a.m., Nov. 17, in the Philippines) which will be streamed on NOW Channel.
For $5, viewers can enjoy the spectacular costumes from the comfort of their homes.
“Miss Universe fans break the internet! The viewership and ticket purchasing from our fanbase overwhelmed the Live Bash host site,” said Amy Emmerich, Miss Universe CEO, in a press statement. “Refunds will be handled by Live Bash starting today.”
The Philippines’ own Michelle Dee is expected to hype up her military training in her national costume that she collaborated with Filipino designer Michael Barassi, according to early posts on social media, after she dropped a few hints.
Recently, a video revealed that Dee’s national costume showcases an airplane. Months before the Miss Universe, Dee underwent military reservist training.
Luis Portelles, a popular Miss Universe content creator, admitted that he, too, did not know what Dee’s national costume is. “But people are speculating that it may have something to do with her military training,” he added.
In a military convoy, media shuttles left from the University Villas for the sporting arena.
Dee, along with 83 other contestants, were ushered to the backstage in preparation for their costumes.
