Alden Richards has nothing but gratitude and admiration for service driver Alexis Verdejolo Ohno after the latter returned the lost phone of the actor’s cousin.
Richards spoke about Ohno’s good deed via the actor’s Facebook page on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
“I don’t usually do this but this person deserves to be seen,” he said while showing a photo of them together.
Richards narrated how he was informed about the lost phone of his cousin by the caretaker of the gym where he works out, prompting the actor to immediately trace the location of the device.
“To cut the story short, I had a call from an unknown number, not knowing kung sino ‘yun, sinagot ko (I answered the phone). Nagulat ako na siya pala yung service driver na nasakyan ng pinsan ko going to the gym,” Richards recalled.
(I was surprised that the person on the other line was the service driver who drove my cousin to the gym.)
“Hindi ako nagpakilala kung sino ako, pero nag-effort siya nung sinabi ko kung pwede ko bang makuha yung phone,” he continued. “Without thinking twice, from Bulacan bumiyahe siya papuntang Podium, dahil meron akong screenings for ‘Five Breakups and a Romance.'”
(I did not introduce myself, but he exerted effort when I asked if I could get back the phone. Without thinking twice, he traveled to Bulacan to The Podium because I have screenings for my film “Five Breakups and a Romance.”)
Richards concluded his post by addressing Ohno, saying, “Mabuhay ka! Sana marami pang tao ang tumulad sayo. Maraming maraming salamat.” (Long live! I hope you set a good example to a lot of people. Thank you so much.)
Ohno then received praises from netizens via the actor’s comments section.
Meanwhile, Richards and Julia Montes’ film “Five Breakups and a Romance” recently crossed the P60 million mark in gross sales. The movie, helmed by director Irene Villamor, marks the first big screen team-up of Richards and Montes.
