Richard Gutierrez says Coco Martin inspires him to do better as an actor
Richard Gutierrez revealed that he considers fellow Kapamilya star Coco Martin as an inspiration to do better in his craft, as the latter is known for being a “passionate” actor.
During his contract signing with ABS-CBN, Gutierrez looked back at the time he was part of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” in 2020 as Lito Valmoria, where he witnessed working alongside Martin.
“Nakatrabaho ko si Coco Martin nang dalawang taon sa ‘Ang Probinsyano.’ Wala siyang kapaguran at nakita ko ‘yun sa kanya (I worked with Coco Martin for two years in ‘Ang Probinsyano.’ I saw that he’s the type of person who doesn’t get tired at all),” he said.
“It’s because of his passion and it’s because of the people he works with and I was able to see that and get inspired by that as well,” he further added.
Following the success of his recent drama “The Iron Heart,” Gutierrez said he’s focused on “developing [his] skills” as an actor, and that he “really enjoys doing action.”

You can tell so many stories with an action series,” he said. “Noong pinasok ko naman ‘yung action sa teleserye at sa pelikula, alam ko naman kung gaano siya kahirap gawin (Before doing the action genre in series and films, I knew how hard it is). Before doing a project, I prepare mentally, physically, spiritually, and as much as I can.”
