Kaila Estrada appeals for ‘kindness’ towards ‘Linlang’ co-star Anji Salvacion
Kaila Estrada emphasized the importance of being “kind and nice” following criticisms towards the acting performance of her “Linlang” co-star Anji Salvacion.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Opulence Halloween Ball last Oct. 31, Estrada admitted that she’s aware of the actress-singer being on the receiving end of backlash, while defending her co-star since the remarks against her have gone “too far.”
“I understand that criticism is part of it, right? We welcome it kasi (because) we learn from the criticisms that we received, but I think some people may have thought (of) taking it too far,” she said, when asked about the criticism towards Salvacion on social media.
The actress then appealed to netizens to practice kindness at all times, while noting how negative remarks can affect others.
“And I really hope that, you know, we can just be kinder and nicer, and more responsible in what we say online. Because of course, hindi natin alam ‘yung magiging effect n’un sa kanya (we don’t know how this would affect her),” she said. “I hope people can be nicer.”

The criticism against Salvacion, who stars as Kim Chiu’s sister Kate in “Linlang,” stemmed from several video clips of her acting performance on the show that made the rounds of social media. Among her critics include showbiz writer Ogie Diaz, although he clarified that his remarks should be taken as a “reminder” for the actress-singer to “improve.”

While seemingly addressing the criticisms against the “Pinoy Big Brother” alum in a post on X (formerly Twitter), Diaz stressed that he wants Salvacion to “be better” as an actress.
“Wag kayong masaktan. I-push nyo pa si Anji to be better. Pag humusay naman siya sa pag-arte in the future, double happiness naman yon for the fans. Ano gusto nyo, echosin lang nila idol nyo just to please you,” he wrote, apparently referring to Salvacion’s managers.
(Don’t be hurt. Just push for Anji to be better. I’m sure if she improves in the future, it means double happiness for the fans. What do you want them to do, praise their idols just to please you?)

Aside from Estrada, ABS-CBN AdProm head Eric John Salut also responded to critics on X, where he reminded them to simply not watch the show.
“Huwag ka na lang manood!!!! Why are you even here? Hindi mo nga ako pina follow. Blocked ka na maya maya pa (Just don’t watch the show! Why are you even here? You’re not even following me. You’ll be blocked later on),” he said.
