John Lloyd Cruz, Baron Geisler, Nadine Lustre nominated for Gawad Urian top acting awards

John Lloyd Cruz, Baron Geisler and Nadine Lustre lead the nominees for the best actor and best actress awards at the 46th edition of Gawad Urian.

Cruz and Geisler earned the nomination for their performance in “Kapag Wala nang Mga Alon” and “Doll House” respectively, as per the announcement by Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino through its Facebook page on Thursday, Nov. 2.

The actors are up against Tommy Alejandrino (“The Baseball Player”), Andrew Ramsey (“Ginhawa”) and Noel Trinidad (“Family Matters”) in the category.

Lustre, meanwhile, was nominated for the top acting honor for her role in the psychological thriller “Deleter.” She will be vying for the award against Max Eigenmann (“12 Weeks”), Chai Fonacier (“Nocebo”) and Shiela Francisco (“Leonor Will Never Die”).

The nominees for the best film category are “Blue Room,” “Leonor Will Never Die,” “12 Weeks” and “Kapag Wala nang Mga Alon”; while the best director nominees include Lav Diaz (“Kapag Wala nang Mga Alon”) and Mikhail Red (“Deleter”).
