There’s no stopping Joey de Leon from unleashing a mouthful of tirades on social media and this time around, he asserted that he’s not the type of person to “compete” and that he aims to reach his 50th anniversary as a noontime host.

De Leon took to his Instagram account on Monday, Oct. 30, to express his hope of reaching 50 years as a host on a noontime show, as he appeared to throw apparent shade to the hosts of GMA-based “Eat Bulaga.”

“We don’t COMPETE. Our aim is to COMPLETE 50 years of noontime hosting! Nearly 3 years to go if you include our participation [on] Student Canteen. Counting tiis ngek, konting tiis na lang (Counting a bit more. Just wait a bit more),” he wrote.

The host also shared a glimpse of his ensemble for “EAT’s” Halloween party in a separate post, where he wore a shirt containing the words, “We eat and drink blood-ga” outlined in red paint.

“This is what I will wear [to] our Halloween Party on Saturday! Happy Halloween Dabarkads,” he said in the caption.

The veteran host is making headlines after his ex-wife Daria Ramirez appealed to him for financial help during an interview with showbiz writer Ogie Diaz, claiming that she had spent over P1 million in their annulment case.

Ramirez also claimed that she didn’t sign any document that supposedly annulled their marriage, and that de Leon, who’s married to Eileen Macapagal de Leon, didn’t give her anything after their split.
