The Manila comeback gig serves as John’s detour from his pop music stint in Manchester, UK.
John is the most popular DJ of the ‘80s. He was a familiar face in “Vilma!” Batangas Governor Vilma Santos’ popular variety show, and started to route the jampacked “disco” circuit for several years.
He has probably the best collection of ‘80s dance music to date. And now, he blends old school music with today’s new tech equipment to `retro’ a whole new meaning.
Given the hectic pace of the rat race, even businessmen need to chill at some point in a busy work week. And there’s nothing like familiar music in the main course.
Besides, you don’t need to be “old” to enjoy the ‘80s. The decade has a lot of musical experience to offer the young and adventurous. John has probably the best collection of `80s dance music to date.
To spice up the show, Club Retro with John Robinson invited some of the most interesting personalities in and out of town in the world of “retro.”
DJ Steve Smith, who’s been spinning old school “disco” and current “club” remixes for the last 30 years is set to kick off the evening.
Guest DJ Gilby “The Spindoctor” Villaroman will come all the way from Bay Area, California, to perform. He is popularly known for his “retro” mash-ups and OPM remix performances in bars around cities across San Francisco.
Daniel Crisologo, the local “Slash” (lead guitarist, Guns N Roses), a popular guitarist of a local band, will add spice to portions of the show.
Popular percussionist Sonny Teodoro, who has had stints with big-name recording artists will liven up John’s music as well.
Entertainment and sports personalities promised to show up for the ONE NIGHT ONLY event. The show’s coverage comes courtesy of 2nd Avenue, Jack TV and ETC. Immortal Host will do online streaming. John Robinson himself will talk about his brush with great names like Lionel Richie and MC Hammer on Monster Radio and RJ 100 radio show specials. John will be at Resorts World Manila for a special date with fans.
