Ricci Rivero cries foul over death wishes for his family; his dad declares: ‘God knows what really happened’

Ricci Rivero exposed a netizen who criticized the basketball player’s family and wished for God to “take” them already for apparently using His name in their public statements.
Through his Facebook page on Sunday, Oct. 29, Ricci showed screenshots of one Graham Smith Mathias’ comment as well as his social media pages.
“Etong pamilya ni Ricci Rivero dinadamay pa si God sa mga pinagsasabi nila. Kunin mo na nga sila God para matahimik na mga yan,” the netizen wrote.
Ricci then said in the caption, “If you think wishing death for my family makes you noble, I think your fascination with showbizness needs some serious reflection Mr. Magna Cum Laude of PUP (Polytechnic University of the Philippines).”
While it was not immediately clear what statements the netizen was referring to, Ricci’s father, Paolo Rivero, had commented on his son’s post, alluding to a woman who had allegedly asked her friends “to spread false information just to gain sympathy.”
No names were mentioned in the post, although it can be noted that Ricci recently made headlines after his revelations on his previous relationship with actress Andrea Brillantes.
“The reason why we always ask God for guidance and blessings is because we know we are on the right side,” Paolo said. “Really, time is the ultimate truth teller. Time will come we will know who’s lying and who’s not.”
“You guys can say anything you want, bad mouth our family but in the end our family can still go to bed and have a good sleep because we know KUNG SINO ANG SINUNGALING AT SINO ANG GUMAGAWA NG KWENTO AT PA-PANIWALAIN ANG MGA TAGA-SUPORTA and asking others to spread false information just to gain sympathy,” he added.
Paolo further claimed that the unnamed woman had asked her partner to ignore her friends’ comments about him, further noting that what mattered was that the two of them were “OK.”
“I can only wish all the best, iha, and when the time comes at lumabas na ang [totoo], I just hope makabawi ka pa. We really feel sorry for you [because] misguided ka ng mga nakapaligid sayo,” Paolo said.

In a response to another netizen, Paolo lamented how the public apparently urged Ricci to “explain his side” but was met with criticism when he did. Paolo also disclosed that even Ricci’s younger brother has been suffering from bullying because of the “lies and [made-up stories]” about the basketball player.
“They all made up the stories to make him look very bad, laundry, gamit sa condo, cheater, he is after her popularity, user, wishing him dead, wishing us all to go to hell, messaging us on our private number. So you think after all this time we’re just gonna take this sitting down?” Paolo stated.
“You can say whatever you want but the truth remains that God knows what really happened… Let’s all wait and see and when that time comes. Go ahead, balikan niyo ako,” he added.

Ricci recently made public his relationship with beauty queen-turned-politician Leren Bautista, who was initially accused as the third party behind his breakup with Brillantes. Both Ricci and Bautista denied this accusation.
