Boy Abunda recalls extreme fear of losing fame
Boy Abunda got candid about his extreme fear of being “irrelevant” and losing fame before, saying he was able to overcome such by knowing his worth.
During his week-long birthday celebration on his show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the veteran TV host was interviewed on Friday, Oct. 27, by veteran journalist Jessica Soho who asked, “Takot ka bang maging irrelevant? Takot ka bang malaos?”
(Are you scared of being irrelevant and losing fame?)
“Yes, oo naman. Dati, takot na takot ako malaos pero hindi na masyado [ngayon],” he answered, adding that he is currently writing about such topic for the book he has been working on.
(Yes, of course. I was very scared to be irrelevant before but now, my fear of such is not as extreme as it was.)

Pero, less ‘yung sakit ng pagiging laos in the context of fame business, kung panghahawakan mo sa sarili mo ‘yung worth mo,” he continued. (But losing fame in show business will be less painful if you will hold on to your self-worth.)

The King of Talk then underscored that he is now “living in gratitude” as his mind and heart are filled with joy.
“Bawas na bawas na ‘yung mga pag-aagam-agam; marami pa ring doubts pero less na ‘yung pagdududa; bawas na bawas na ‘yung mga kargang pagkamuhi. It took a while para mabawasan ‘yung bagahe,” he admitted.
(There are still doubts and hatred but they are less now. It took a while before my baggage was lessened.)
When asked to give a message for himself, Abunda said, “Be healthy, be happy, be sexy and do not ever be afraid.”
