‘It’s Your Lucky Day’ hosts emotional on show’s last day, welcome ‘It’s Showtime’ back
The hosts of “It’s Your Lucky Day” could not help but be emotional as they ended their 12-day airing and bid goodbye to their noontime viewers.
Before their closing spiel on Friday, Oct. 27, Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, Shaina Magdayao, Jennica Garcia, Francine Diaz, Seth Fedelin, Kyle Echarri, Divine Tetay, Petite along with their special guest, Manzano’s actress wife Jessy Mendiola, gave a message to those who supported them and the game variety show.
Garcia said she will miss the show and the audience, dubbed as “Ka-Lucky,” while Divine Tetay and Petite expressed their gratitude for being given the opportunity to be part of the show.
Actors Magdayao, Diaz, Fedelin and Echarri were grateful as well for being chosen to host the show despite not having hosting experiences. Meanwhile, aside from quips of the show’s extension, Cantiveros and Domingo spoke about the relationship they built with their co-hosts and the show’s staff.
Manzano, for his part, was in tears as he said, “Bukod sa aking maybahay, sa aking anak, magulang at pamilya, kapag may kumausap sa akin at tinanong: ‘Ano ‘yung pinakafavorite mo na moment nung nagho-host ka for 20+ years?—’It’s Your Lucky Day.'”

“It’s Your Lucky Day” temporarily replaced “It’s Showtime,” which has been suspended by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) for 12 airing days. Other celebrities who made an appearance in the show were Vilma Santos, Andrea Brillantes, Bianca Umali, comedians Negi and Long Mejia, among others.
“It’s Showtime” will be back on air Saturday, Oct. 28.
