The hosts of “It’s Your Lucky Day” could not help but be emotional as they ended their 12-day airing and bid goodbye to their noontime viewers.

Before their closing spiel on Friday, Oct. 27, Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, Shaina Magdayao, Jennica Garcia, Francine Diaz, Seth Fedelin, Kyle Echarri, Divine Tetay, Petite along with their special guest, Manzano’s actress wife Jessy Mendiola, gave a message to those who supported them and the game variety show.

Garcia said she will miss the show and the audience, dubbed as “Ka-Lucky,” while Divine Tetay and Petite expressed their gratitude for being given the opportunity to be part of the show.

Actors Magdayao, Diaz, Fedelin and Echarri were grateful as well for being chosen to host the show despite not having hosting experiences. Meanwhile, aside from quips of the show’s extension, Cantiveros and Domingo spoke about the relationship they built with their co-hosts and the show’s staff.

Manzano, for his part, was in tears as he said, “Bukod sa aking maybahay, sa aking anak, magulang at pamilya, kapag may kumausap sa akin at tinanong: ‘Ano ‘yung pinakafavorite mo na moment nung nagho-host ka for 20+ years?—’It’s Your Lucky Day.'”

(Aside from my wife, my child, my parents and my family, if someone would ask me what my most favorite moment in my more than 20 years of hosting is, I’d say that it is being part of “It’s Your Lucky Day.”)

“It’s our great honor na magpasaya sa inyong lahat nang panandalian para mapawi ang inyong problema. At sa ating ‘It’s Showtime’ family, we welcome you back! Maraming-maraming salamat sa pagpapatuloy sa amin sa inyong tahanan at itutuloy niyo rin ang kasiyahan.”

(It’s our great honor to have made you happy and forget your problems for a brief time. And to our “It’s Showtime” family, we welcome you back! Thank you for letting us in to your home and may you continue bringing happiness to the viewers.)

To conclude his message, Manzano asked their viewers to pray with them. “Kapit lang. Malay naman natin this is not goodbye.”

“It’s Your Lucky Day” temporarily replaced “It’s Showtime,” which has been suspended by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) for 12 airing days. Other celebrities who made an appearance in the show were Vilma Santos, Andrea Brillantes, Bianca Umali, comedians Negi and Long Mejia, among others.

“It’s Showtime” will be back on air Saturday, Oct. 28.
