Nikki de Moura was a sight to behold as she showed off her breathtaking beauty and grace during the preliminary competition of the Miss Grand International 2023 pageant last Oct. 22.
During the national costume competition, the Brazilian-Filipino model was reminiscent of a festival queen in her national costume by Er Stephen Alvarado which was quite a spectacle, as it featured a “grand headdress adorned with feathers and jewels and a flowing gown with intricate patterns and vibrant hues.”
The beauty queen’s costume is created as a tribute to Filipino festivals, as seen on Miss Grand Philippines’ official Instagram page last Friday, Oct. 21.
De Moura pranced on the pageant’s runway in her one-piece patterned swimsuit with cut-outs.
“Miss Grand Philippines Nikki de Moura slayed the Swimsuit segment of Miss Grand International 2023 Preliminary Competition,” Miss Grand Philippines’ caption read.
The 19-year-old stunner also showed off her doll-like elegance in her custom hand-embroidered Rian Fernandez evening gown in eye-catching magenta color, which also featured a deep neckline and a sheer overskirt encrusted with “glass crystals and rhinestones.”
Miss Grand Philippines also took to Instagram to share a glimpse of de Moura practicing for the pageant’s evening gown segment.
“Mahal ka namain, Nikki (We love you, Nikki)! We are proud of you,” the caption read.
The Philippines has yet to win the coveted gold crown since its inception in 2013. Nicole Cordoves and Samantha Bernardo came close to the title when they were named as first runner-up in 2016 and 2020, respectively.
Reigning titleholder Isabelle Menin of Brazil will pass her crown to her successor on Oct. 25 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. EDV
