Jaymee Joaquin, actress and TV host, dies at 44

Jaymee Joaquin, an actress and TV host known for the game show “Games Uplate Live,” has died after battling breast cancer. She was 44.

Joaquin’s close friend Fides VA confirmed her death in a Facebook post last Wednesday, Oct. 18, where she spoke about the actress-TV host living “the most beautiful life.”

“Our dearest Jaymee Topacio aka Jaymee Joaquin, Jaymee Wins officially became an angel today. You’ve lived the most beautiful life, Jaymee. You will be greatly missed on this planet,” her post read.

Joaquin’s cousin Erika Geronimo also announced the “Ligaw na Bulaklak” star’s death on Facebook, as she thanked the latter for “inspiring and touching a lot of lives.”

“It is with a heavy heart that our family announces the passing of my cousin, Jaymee Topacio aka Jaymee Wins or Jaymee Joaquin. She lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, laughter, and love,” she wrote.

“She inspired and touched a lot of lives through her advocacy and talent. She will be greatly missed and will always be in our loving memory as a strong woman. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered,” Geronimo added.

Further details about the actress-TV host’s internment and burial are yet to be disclosed as of this writing.

Joaquin was first diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in 2016 and was in remission in 2017. She, however, disclosed that her cancer returned two years later.

Born as Jaymee Geronimo Topacio, she gained recognition after hosting the late-night ABS-CBN game show “Games Uplate Live” from 2006 to 2009. She’s also known for her tagline “Kabagang” in the show.

Joaquin also made appearances in TV shows and movies including “Ligaw na Bulaklak,” “Bora” and “Shake, Rattle and Roll 9.” Prior to her death, she ran a page called “Jaymee Wins” which documented her breast cancer journey.  /ra
