Despite backlash, Abegail Rait grateful to be part of Francis Magalona’s legacy

Amid the backlash that she received after revealing her secret relationship with the late Francis Magalona, Abegail Rait said she is grateful to Jayson Luzadas of “Pinoy Pawnstars” for the opportunity to be part of the Master Rapper’s legacy.

Luzadas’ online show paved the way for Rait and her daughter with Magalona to come out in public, 15 years after the death of the music icon. The social media personality’s show then bought an old jersey, and other personal items, used by the rapper for half a million pesos.

During the show, Rait claimed that life was hard for her and her daughter especially after the death of Magalona. For 15 years, she said that they chose to live quietly and away from public’s scrutiny, knowing that they would be judged, but now it was time to show the public that they “exist.”

Following the surprise reveal, Rait expressed gratitude to Luzadas, not only for preserving Francis M’s memorabilia, but also for allowing them to tell their story.

“Grateful to share Francis M’s memorabilia now for keeps. Thank you, Pinoy Pawnstars Boss Toyo for making us part of Kiko’s legacy for Cheska,” she said, referring to her daughter Gaile Francesca.

The former flight attendant then shared a glimpse of herself and her daughter visiting Magalona’s grave in Marikina City in a separate post.

“Thank you baby papa [heart emoji] belated happy birthday in heaven,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Luzadas claimed that he informed Magalona’s wife, Pia, of his then upcoming vlog about Rait and her daughter, although he never received a response from her.

Neither Pia nor their children have made a comment on the matter, although their son Frank appeared to like a post pertaining to a certain “homewrecker” on X (formerly Twitter).

Magalona is best known for his hit songs “Mga Kababayan” and “Kaleidoscope World,” to name a few. He died in March 2009 after battling acute myeloid leukemia in 2008. EDV
