Yexel Sebastian warned the public of apparently false claims that he and his partner Mikee Agustin are “wanted” in the Philippines, and stressed that they were able to leave the country as there were no lawsuits filed against them for their alleged involvement in an investment scam.

Sebastian, who was confirmed to have flown to Japan with Agustin last Oct. 9, said this while sharing a post from one Von Seki who called the couple “scammers.”

The netizen further claimed that Sen. Raffy Tulfo and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) had offered a reward to anyone who would give details on the pair’s location in Japan.

“FAKE NEWS po ito,” Sebastian said on his Facebook page on Thursday, Oct. 12. “‘Wag po kayo magpakalat ng bagay na hindi totoo.” (This is fake news. Please do not disseminate false claims.)

“Nakaalis kami ng bansa dahil wala po kami ni isang kaso at ‘yan naman po ay nasa batas,” he explained. “Meron pong due process ang lahat. Salamat.”

(We were able to fly out of the country because there were no cases filed against us. It was permitted by the law. Everything undergoes due process. Thank you.)

Tulfo, however, earlier said in a Senate hearing that complaints had already been filed against Sebastian and Agustin before the NBI.

Sebastian and Agustin earlier made headlines after several individuals accused the pair of being involved in an investment scam. The couple allegedly collected hundreds of millions of pesos in investments from the complainants, then later stopped communicating with the latter.

In response, Sebastian claimed that he and Agustin were investors as well and that the casino junket—where the complainants’ money were apparently invested in—is owned by a certain Hector Pantollana.

Sebastian also asserted that the casino junket was “legitimate” as he and Agustin attended its ribbon-cutting event in Clark, Pampanga.  /ra
