MANILA, Philippines — After the Miss International, Miss Grand International, and Miss Universe pageants launched their own online polls, one after the other, The Miss Globe has also now opened its web voting for this year’s candidates. And the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) has begun its campaign for its queen Anna Valencia Lakrini.
“Voting for the next Miss Globe has officially started! Show your support for [Lakrini] and vote for her on the Miss Globe official website,” Bb. Pilipinas said in a Facebook that tagged the link to The Miss Globe. The beauty queen shared the same post on her own social media account.
The Miss International and Miss Universe pageants launched their polls on their respective mobile apps, while the Miss Grand International contest tapped social media for collecting votes, just last week.
Lakrini, 25, earned a nutritional sciences degree in Germany. She joined the Bb. Pilipinas pageant for two years in a row before capturing her national title. She finished in the Top 12 on her first attempt in 2022, where 2015 The Miss Globe Ann Colis sat in the judging panel.
In this year’s edition of the national pageant, not only did Lakrini bring home the Bb. Pilipinas Globe crown, she also received a special title, and the much-coveted “Best in Swimsuit” award. Among the judges in the 2022 competition were the Philippines’ first Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz; Dolly de Leon, the first Filipino actor to be nominated at the BAFTA and the Golden Globe Awards; and, reigning Miss International Jasmin Selberg from Germany.
Lakrini will try to sustain the Philippines’ impressive record in the Albania-based international competition. Aside from Colis, Maureen Montagne also scored another victory for the country when she was proclaimed The Miss Globe in 2022. Several other Bb. Pilipinas queens also posted podium finishes in the global tilt.
The reigning queen is under the guidance of the Aces and Queens pageant camp, the same group that produced Colis, as well sa 2019 The Miss Globe second runner-up Leren Mae Bautista. Origin Model and Artist Management, the same modeling agency of 2022 Bb. Pilipinas International Nicole Borromeo and 2019 queen Gazini Ganados, has also taken her as their first non-Cebuana ward.
Lakrini will try to succeed reigning queen Anabel Payano as The Miss Globe at the final competition that will be held in Tirana, Albania, on Nov. 17 (Nov. 18 in Manila). EDV
