The passionate cursing in the chorus aside, JK Labajo’s hit song “Ere” made it to the music-sharing platform Spotify’s global chart, the first Filipino song to debut to have done so.

“Ere’s” attention-catching lyrics may have contributed to this feat, propelling the song at 177th place on the chart, with 1.22 million streams, according to a report from music platform @chartdata on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Oct. 9.

“Ere” also made its debut at no. 6 of the music platform’s viral song chart, as reported by music platform @chartdataPH’s X page.

While Labajo has yet to address his recent milestone, he reposted INQUIRER.net’s report on his X and Instagram accounts.

Meanwhile, Labajo’s “Senior High” co-star Andrea Brillantes took to her X page to congratulate the singer-songwriter through a shocked emoji.

The hit song, which dropped last August, is included in the singer’s album “Sad Songs and B******* Part 1” and was released a month later.

It also contains the tracks “Sad Songs and B*******,” “May halaga pa ba ako sayo??,” “Manhid,” “Paruparo,” “Gabi,” “Time Machine,” “Lumisan,” and “Tapusin Na Natin ‘To” featuring Paolo Benjamin of Ben&Ben.

Labajo started his entertainment career as a contestant of the singing contest “The Voice Kids” in 2014, where he was coached by Bamboo. He ended in third place, while Lyca Gairanod was named as the winner.
