Freelancer Ruffa Gutierrez says she has ‘good relationship with ABS-CBN’

Months after the suspension of her talk show on Manny Villar-owned ALLTV, Ruffa Gutierrez maintained that she is on good terms with media giant ABS-CBN while noting that she’s currently working on a freelance basis.
Gutierrez told reporters in an interview on the sidelines of the press conference for “Can’t Buy Me Love” that there’s no issue between her and ABS-CBN, adding that it was only bashers who added malice to her working relationship with the Kapamilya network.
“Alam mo, wala namang intriga eh. I have a good relationship with ABS-CBN. Ang mga iba lang talaga nang-iintriga. I’m also a freelancer kaya maraming, maraming salamat na nabigyan ako ng opportunity to be a part of [Can’t Buy Me Love] (There’s really no issue. I have a good relationship with ABS-CBN. Others just made an issue out of it. I’m also currently a freelancer, that’s why I’m very, very thankful that I was given the opportunity to be part of ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’),” she said.
The actress then expressed her gratitude to the media company’s executives for “being really good to the Gutierrez family,” while noting that she and her brother Richard Gutierrez continue to receive more projects.
“I’m just very grateful. Nagpapasalamat ako sa ABS-CBN, they’ve been really good to the [Gutierrez] family and maraming salamat kina Sir Carlo, Sir Mark, Tita Cory. Sana tuloy-tuloy ang projects (I’m just very grateful. I thank ABS-CBN because they’ve been really good to the Gutierrez family. Thank you to Sir Carlo, Sir Mark, Tita Cory. I hope I’ll still have more projects),” she said, referring to ABS-CBN CEO Carlo Katigbak, chairman Mark Lopez, and COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes.
The former beauty queen also noted that ABS-CBN continues to “survive” after its shutdown in May 2020, saying everyone is “still together.”
“After the shutdown, we are all still together. We are able to survive and we’re doing very, very well,” she said.
Prior to “Can’t Buy Me Love,” Gutierrez was part of the talk show “M.O.M.S — Mhies on a Mission” with Mariel Rodriguez and Ciara Sotto. The show, which aired on ALLTV, is currently on pause due to technical issues.
She was also included in the controversial film “Maid in Malacañang” and its sequel “Martyr or Murderer.” EDV
