Just days after the management of noontime show “EAT” apologized for Joey de Leon’s “lubid” joke, the veteran host clapped back at certain “inggitero’t inggiteras” while citing Michael V.’s statement about comedians’ responsibility to practice “self-censorship.”

Michael V. recently made headlines after saying that it’s the comedian’s responsibility to observe “self-censorship,” as the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) seemed to be watching comedians more closely.

The “EAT” host appeared to stand by his fellow comedian, as he took to his X (formerly Twitter) page on Sunday, Oct. 1 to speak up about certain people who were allegedly “jealous” of him.

“Ayon kay @michaelbitoygma, isinatula ng @AngPoetNyo — Mahirap na ngayong magpatawa. Marami na ngayong namumuna. Tingin nila mas magaling sila, sila ang dapat narito pala,” he wrote. “Eh ano ang tawag sa kanila? Kung sa lugar mo’y ang tagal mo na? Mas kwela sila palagay nila. Ayunnn… inggitero’t inggitera!”

(According to Michael V., which has been made into a poem by Joey de Leon — it’s hard to make people laugh. A lot of people just criticize. They think that they’re better than us. They should take over our spots. But what do you call them? Especially that you’ve been in the industry longer than them? They think they’re a lot funnier. That’s it, jealous people.)

De Leon then shared a screenshot of his poem in a separate post, however, he didn’t address them to anyone in particular.

During a Senate finance subcommittee hearing, MTRCB chairperson Diorella “Lala” Sotto-Antonio said the management of the TV5 noontime show had already issued an apology to the regulatory board.

Sotto, daughter of de Leon’s “EAT” co-host, former senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, recently came under fire for MTRCB’s suspension order on rival noontime show “It’s Showtime,” amid issues of conflict of interest.

Despite this, Sotto asserted that her family background and surname shouldn’t be viewed as an issue. EDV
